Meet the Artist: Ed

Ed is the artist behind our beautiful and well-recognised Chocolate Boxes.

“I have always been passionate about art and music equally and absolutely obsessed with both.”

From a young age, Ed knew that his true passion was in the arts. He has been working in the creative industry since graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Design and an Honours Diploma in Fine Art from the Institute of Art and Design (IADT) in 1997.

Ed’s work draws on themes such as psychogeography, geological phenomena, folk history, and the synthesis of superstition and music making. He blends the rural, romantic, folklore-obsessed world with a modern, suburban-urban sensibility.

When asked to describe his artistic style, Ed shared:

“My current work is sculptural, colourful and follows a strict set of guidelines. I work best with restrictions and these works blur the lines between painting and sculpture. As sculptures, they mimic hard-edge abstract painting and as paintings, they have an almost industrial finish that removes the hand of the artist and offers a modular and prescriptive process for art making.”
